There's a rumour going around in Iran which states the Supreme leader may be dead , according to multiple sources on the internet.
Even George Stephanopoulos at ABC is reporting it.
According to one source , it is just a rumor and nothing is certain since there's been report in the past that he had passed away.
The supreme leader is very old so maybe this report is correct.
I wonder what this would all mean if indeed he's dead?
The real hard-liners in Iran is really the revolutionary guards and basij , so it would probably not be good since those folks would greatly increase their power after the death of the supreme leader.
The revolutionary guards were already making huge inroads at the expense of the mullahs and i'm sure they would move fast the certify their full control of Iran..
On the other hand , this could unleash a massive civil war because of many segment of the system fighting for power.
The green may look at this as an opportunity to bring down the system and make their move.
How would the Obama administration react to this??
