Ok...today has been a pretty exhaustive day. We are on the move and making progress in this healthcare reform battle. There are lots of shiny objects being thrown in our paths but we must continue to do 3 things.
- We must continue to do what we've been doing. Calling, faxing, e-mailing, educating our neighbors and friends about healthcare reform and why a robust public option is so important.
- We should if we can support the National Association of Free Clinics that Keith Olbermann has discussed on his show link. So, far they've raised over 1.2 million dollars and 3 clinics scheduled. If you can't support monetarily then a little sweat equity would be helpful too. My goal is to try to donate every time I feel discouraged.
- Finally, for those of us whose nerves are frayed we've got to have a media black-out day (except KOS of course). We are all so emotionally involved and are so anxious for healthcare reform with a robust public option to be done and over that we are hanging on every piece of new information that we can get our hands on. That is not a good long term strategy when we have so many more battles to fight.
Some Kossacks have made some really great points about these "un-named and anonymous" sources. They could be opponents of healthcare reform and are trying to throw us off of our game. Let's just keep doing what we are doing and encourage those of us (like me sometimes) who need a little help getting to the finish line. Let's do all of the above and trust our President until he gives us reason not to.
