I'll explain who the bunnies are momentarily.
To the Bunnies - Why are you here if you hate it so much?
You don't like the blogs. You don't like bloggers. We are told each and every day we are ineffective, unimportant, irrelevant and that no one listens to us anyway.
And yet you come here, each and every day, dutifully checking on every diary and every comment, actively prospecting for affront.
Some of us fought Republicans for years before you showed up. We know we are Democrats, we know we are dedicated to party and cause. We don't need your participation or permission to carry on.
You weren't here in the first place, and yet here you are now. Complaining as usual.
Maybe you don't like the choice of stories on the Front Page. Maybe you have a beef with some affiliate progressive blog. Maybe you just don't like the idea that the netroots is once again poking at thin-skinned centrist politicians with a history of deserving getting poked at.. because there's a vote in play here and that's just interfering with proper governance.
Maybe you just like to complain about Dailykos.
OK, who are the bunnies? Good question.
To me, the bunnies are people who remind me an awful lot of the 'evil bunnies' featured in the cartoons drawn by the character Hoops in the rather strange 1980's movie "One Crazy Summer".
They seem cute. They definitely know they're cool. They have an identity and they are proud of it.
But they have no use whatsoever for individual expression and spend a lot of time singling out the marginalized for punishment.
This is the internet, Bunnies. It's a chaotic freedom of expression-rich environment. A target-rich environment for the likes of Republicans and bunnies alike.
Good luck shutting the netroots up, bunnies.
The Republicans couldn't do it. And you don't have a prayer of doing so.
But true to tell, you don't seem very interested in shutting down the blogs.
After all, where would you spend your time if we weren't here to hate on Kossacks for doing that most unconscionable and treasonous of acts - thinking and discussing the important topics of the day without permission, in public, and doing so every day.
So, if it's okay with you bunnies, we dirty filthy bloggers are going to do what we do best.
You are of course welcome to keep coming here and driving up site traffic and DKOS's advertising revenues.
But, really. It's Daily Kos. Did you think we'd stop giving Washington what-for just because the revolution rode into town? Please. We helped send it to DC for the victory celebration, same as you. No need to thank us. You are quite welcome.
And we have never stopped getting the good word out that Democrats are back and ready to do great things for the American people.
And you are always welcome to help us do just that.
