The last few days has been hard. I don't know what will happen anymore. I'm angry (fortunately I can moderate it so it's not injuring my health) and I feel powerless. Lieberman pulls the biggest dick move ever and says that the public option is a government-funded entitlement program, which it is not. He is making the same false statements as Senator Landrieu and Senator Lincoln about the bill. Senators Sherrod Brown and Sheldon Whitehouse immediately put the record straight, but I don't know if it will change any minds on Lieberman's side (Senator Schumer, when asked if Reid should have made a more conservative bill, immediately jumped to the bill's and Reid's defense).
I have a lot to think about, being in college and all, and I somehow managed to not let the developments envelop my brain.

Well, I sent in my mail-in ballot today, voting for Jon Corzine and Democrats for all the assembly and board of freeholders elections. The mail-in ballot is a new election tool that was approved last year. It's like the absentee ballot, but it is counted toward the election day vote count instead of only being counted if the vote is close. It's a useful tool, but it requires postage in non-national elections, which I have found to be hard to get here on campus. That being said, I hope Corzine wins. New Jersey needs him, not some corrupt, self-indulgent former Bush Attorney who has no clue how to run a state.
I also have some news for you all. Illinois Senator and Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin has a poll asking how much we support A) 50 State Public Option B) Opt-Out Public Option C) Opt-In Public Option D) Triggered Public Option E) No Public Option on a 0-10 scale with 10 being the highest. Everyone should vote on it, make it known to Senator Dick Durbin how important it is to all of us.
I have the poll linked HERE!
