Doug Hoffman, the Conservative Party candidate in the NY-23rd district special election, has some pretty interesting heroes. More below.

...The 9/12 pledge isn’t the only pandering Hoffman has done to secure Beck’s enthusiastic support. Today on his radio program, Beck continued to nudge Hoffman to be more conservative. After being prodded by Beck to say climate change is not caused by human activity, Hoffman announced, "Well, I think there’s a lot of debate on there. I don’t believe that it’s totally manmade." Beck cohost Pat Gray praised Hoffman’s lurch to the right, noting "he’s getting stronger every second." Beck chimed in, agreeing, "He’s getting stronger, there it is, every second." Hoffman then groveled:

PAT: Every second. What about

HOFFMAN: I have good mentors here.

GLENN: Wait, wait. Wait, wait. Are they mentors that will show –

HOFFMAN: I’m talking about you, Glenn.

GLENN: Oh, okay. I was going to say all right, as long as they are standing out from the shadows. [...]

HOFFMAN: No. Yeah, well, I’m going to keep in touch with people like you so I don’t get infected with that disease.

Yup. Hoffman pandering directly to Beck in a radio interview on Beck's right wing hate radio show.

Now, I've seen diaries here taking about how democrats will all probably lose in 2009, how they don't care that democrats will lose, and how they all deserve it. Okay, but New York doesn't deserve to have Hoffman in office. Virginia doesn't deserve to have McDonnell. New Jersey doesn't deserve to have a boot-licking Bushie as govenor. So get out and vote!!!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
