I am so angry I can barely speak today. If someone thinks equating giving more people health insurance to putting them in ovens and baking them en masse, they need to be slapped stupid. No wait...they're already there.
To think so many GOP reps stand behind these idiots really makes me ashamed to think these people have a hand, no matter how small, in running the country. So I took my rep to task today and sent him a letter. I wish something more could be done, but alas, if I pimpslapped all the people I wanted to these days, my slappin' hand would fall off.
Dear Rep. Turner,
It is with shock and shame I write to you today. When I discovered your support for the so-called "Teabag rally" to protest health care reform on November 5, I was disgusted and horrified to see that you would support a group of misguided individuals so rude and insulting and completely divorced from reality as to compare an effort to give Americans more health care coverage to putting them in ovens en masse and burning them to death. Quite frankly, I expected more professionalism, more sensitivity, and more basic logic from someone helping to run the country. Equating health care insurance reform with Nazi Germany is a grave insult to all the people who suffered under that regime. And while these misguided people and their corporate sponsors have every right to express themselves in a manner that doesn't harm others, you as a public servant and a representative do have a higher standard to which to hold yourself.
I'm disappointed, Rep. Turner. Disappointed and embarrassed to be from your district.
With the sincere hope that you'll start considering the needs of your constituents over cheap political theater,
[me]
