This is going to be a really brief diary. Yesterday, Michelle Bachmann and other elected Republican officials participated in the Tea Party rally in Washington. During the rally there were many speeches that went right up to the line if not crossed it outright. There were also many images that were thoroughly disgusting present. And finally, after months and months of this offensive garbage being spewed Representative Steven Israel (D-NY) had the guts to stand up, be the adult, and take Michelle Bachmann and the Republican leadership to task.
If you are not familiar with some of the images that Rep. Israel is referring they are as follows:
Here is an upclose view of the photo:
Representative Steven Israel (D-NY)summed it up best for me when he said the following:
"I can't believe that Congresswoman Bachmann would stand where she stood, and see those images, and not have the common decency to say, 'I disagree with the use of those images.' I think that she owes the memory of those who perished in the Holocaust an apology. She owes us all an apology. And I'm waiting. We're all waiting.

We need to see more of this. If the MSM won't pick it up we've got to yell louder until they do. The rhetoric is too hot and people who are on the edge for a myriad of reasons don't need more of this to incite potentially violent situations.
Again, Robert Gibbs had something to say on this today as well. It thought it was pitch perfect.
"I will continue to say what I've said before. You hear in this debate, you hear analogies, you hear references to, you see pictures about and depictions of individuals that are truly stunning, and you hear it all the time. People -- imagine five years ago somebody comparing health care reform to 9/11. Imagine just a few years ago had somebody walked around with images of Hitler. Hopefully we can get back to a discussion about the issues that are important in this country that we can do so without being personally disagreeable and set up comparisons to things that were so insidious in our history that anybody in any profession or walk of life would be well advised to compare nothing to those atrocities."
