We talk a lot here about rewarding better Dems and punishing the bad ones.  Well folks -- talk is cheap.  We have a chance right now to make a statement to the Democratic party that we will be there for people who will take tough stands for progressive legislation.

Adam B has a diary at the top of the Rec list right now, Show Vulnerable Pro-HCR Dems: We've Got Your Back!, which has a ton of Recommends.  If you haven't clicked, this diary directs you to an ActBlue page created to reward Democrats in tough districts for standing up and voting for health care reform this weekend.  Those voting yes on the Stupak amendment are excluded.  Here are the good guys:

AZ-01 Kirkpatrick, Ann R+6
AZ-05 Mitchell, Harry R+5
AZ-08 Giffords, Gabby R+4
KS-03 Moore, Dennis R+3
NY-19 Hall, John R+3
FL-08 Grayson, Alan R+2
MI-07 Schauer, Mark R+2
NY-24 Arcuri, Mike R+2
WI-08 Kagen, Steve R+2
CA-11 McNerney, Jerry R+1
IL-08 Bean, Melissa R+1
IL-11 Halvorson, Debbie R+1
IL-14 Foster, Bill R+1
MN-01 Walz, Tim R+1
NY-23 Owens, Bill R+1
NH-01 Shea-Porter, Carol R+0
NY-01 Bishop, Timothy R+0

At present, despite all the Recs, a grand total of 23 of us have contributed to those who are taking a tough stand to move health care reform along.  23!!!!!  Recs are cheap, but dollars are more effective.  Come on people, we can do better than this.

Please click on the ActBlue page and donate to those that will stand up for reform.  Even if it is just a few dollars for each Rep, it will make a difference.  If we can get the dollar amount up to reasonable levels, maybe the media will take notice as well.

These reps put their asses on the line by standing up and voting yes.  What will you do for them?

Update: Now up to 36 donors.  But with all the regular commenters here, it really should reach at least 100.  Come on people!

Update2: Over 50, but no where near 100 yet.  Email Adam's diary to people who might be interested in contributing!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
