Here we go again.  The paranoid right has their villians and they see them under every bed.  Now Doug Hoffman (Teabagger from New York) is accusing ACORN, the Democratic Party and Unions of stealing the election he lost:

I ran a different kind of campaign, one where Conservatives, Republicans, Libertarians, Tea Party and 9/12 activists rallied around. ACORN, the unions and Democratic Party were scared, and that's why they tampered with the ballots of voters in NY-23. Will you please contribute today so we can show them that fair elections are the Will of the People? Thank you.

TPM: Doug Hoffman: ACORN Has Stolen NY-23 Election!

Of course, he has no evidence supporting such charges.

More after the fold.

Glenn Beck follower Doug Hoffman lost the election earlier this month.  Now absentee votes are showing it was closer, but Bill Owens still leads by over by 2,832 votes, with 4,262 absentees votes left to be counted.

So Hoffman accuses, with no evidence, ACORN, unions and the Democratic Party of voter fraud, of tampering with ballots.

ACORN and the unions did their best to try and sway the results to Obamacare supporter Bill Owens.

That is why I am writing you today. Recent developments leave me to wonder who is scheming behind closed doors, twisting arms and stealing elections from the voters of NY-23.

I'm sure you are as dismayed as I am to learn of the mischief that took place in Oswego and neighboring counties. We know this would not be the first time for the ACORN faithful to tamper with democracy.

A recanvassing in the 11-county district shows Owens' lead has narrowed to 3,026.In Oswego County, I was reported to lead by only 500 votes with 93 percent of the vote counted election night, but inspectors found I actually won by 1,748 votes

Let's force them keep this recanvassing active! Let's give this election a chance to end differently!

Oswego County elections officials blame the mistakes on "chaos" in their call-in center that included a phone system foul-up, and on inspectors who read numbers incorrectly when phoning in results. This sounds like a tactic right from the ACORN playbook.

TPM: Doug Hoffman: ACORN Has Stolen NY-23 Election!

When I was younger, Republicans saw commies everywhere.  It is so pathetic that now they see ACORN behind all that happens, but this is what Rupert Murdoch feeds the Republican cultists from his propaganda network.  FoxNews has convinced the ignorant that ACORN is all powerful and full of scary black folks.

The racism and ignorance in all of this is mind boggling.

But, on the bright side, Palin and Hoffman, Beck and Limbaugh, none of them play well with those who are not Republican cultists.  Ordinary folks working their jobs and trying to raise families are repelled by this crap.

Soon FoxNews will try to criminalize oak trees, for they leave acorns.  And the cultists will follow Beck and Limbaugh, Palin and Huckabee and start chopping down their trees.

Their days of influence are numbered.  It's why I support President Obama even though I disagree on many issues (from the left).  American needs to marginalize these extremists, and they way to do it is through a massive defeat in 2012.

Meanwhile, if you're inclined, make a donation to ACORN:

Donate now to help ACORN survive, and a generous supporter will DOUBLE your gift — up to $20,000.

At ACORN we believe in the people we serve. Since the day we first began organizing with our neighbors for basic housing and jobs back in 1970, we've seen how ordinary people can change their lives and their communities. Even then, we were attacked for it.

Please make a contribution so we can continue to fight for an America that works for everyone. You'll be helping ACORN fight for a stronger America, while showing Fox "News" that they can't stop people like you and me from creating a brighter future. Your donation today will be worth TWICE as much.

If only poor folks were as powerful as Asshat Hoffman and FoxNews think they are!

party him:

Jerry O. Eaton, Jefferson County Republican elections commissioner, called Mr. Hoffman's assertion "absolutely false."

"No one has touched those ballots or has access to those ballots except Board of Elections staff -- and in a bipartisan manner," he said.

Hope, change win; Barack Obama, your time is now

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
