Congress put on quite a show this weekend, passionately arguing on the Senate floor over whether or not to make the same lame arguments next week over a watered down healthcare bill that will neither provide true reform or control cost. The same con artists that have always protected the special interest groups against the very people they are charge with representing have bamboozled the citizenry again.
The Democrats are touting a big win for the president since they were able to garner the sixty votes needed to continue the debate. We say big F-ing deal. Although we realize the president needed a boost after returning from an embarrassing trip to Asia where our Chinese bankers soundly and legitimately chastised him, this crap being sold to the American people as healthcare reform is anything but what President Obama promised during the election.
The Barack Obama we had come to understand and support was a man out to completely revamp and renovate healthcare in America. However, what we have come to realize is, his vision of healthcare reform has been whittled down to little more than a band-aide solution for this cancerous growth on the nation’s debt. The only way to bring about quality healthcare at an affordable rate would be to institute a single payer system with government setting the rates for provider services.
There is no other way to achieve true measurable healthcare reform without eliminating the private sector from the process. Unfortunately, this is nearly an insurmountable task at this stage of the debate, because those on the right have thoroughly convinced their minions that government is the enemy of the people. Failing to understand that government is the people, many idiots have followed the line of reasoning that socialized medicine is just the first step leading to a government take over of their entire lives.
While there are some benefits that will come from this shame of a bill by way of eliminating preexisting conditions, eliminating annual and lifetime caps as well as not allowing insurance companies to drop someone they deem too expensive to carry, the current bill does not adequately address cost controls. Any taxes or measures to reduce the profit margins, the waste or fraud and abuse of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries will simply be recouped directly from the consumer.
The American people lost the battle of healthcare reform the minute Congressional leadership allowed the single payer system to be demonized by the prepaid flunkies of the insurance industrial complex. The Republicans did a hell of a job marshalling the forces of their plebian army through subtle race baiting, out right lies and when that failed, they injected the red hot abortion issue into the debate. And at the end of the day, most sane people trying to keep pace with all the deception, are so confused they will settle for anything just to move on to the next most pressing issue facing the country; jobs.
Nevertheless, for those who would argue that the Barack Obama administration did not deliver on his promise of more transparency in government, we would vehemently disagree, as we can see right through this scam. Click here to download the podcast. http://retrovisionmedia.com/...
