I was reading Plum Line and came across an interesting blurb.
Mr. Johnson of Little Green Footballs, the conservative blog, has parted ways with the right.
I read awhile ago he was a libertarian but, was growing impatient with the behavior of the right.

While some may dance with joy, it is somewhat disheartening to read this. Mr. Johnson's points are very true.
But, it does point to the poisoning of our society. The extreme thinking and demands that all must be either or.
If the country does not get a grip on this over wrought expression of disagreement or opposition it will eats us from within.
Where did tolerance go?
While we are certainly in shaky condition ourselves, nothing is like the lunacy seen by the right. It's like they all just lost their heads and are on a bender of crazy. I wonder how some will feel when it is all done and it's out of their system...
Will they wake up and feel like a drunk on a 2 bender??? Feeling like, 'god, what did I do??"
Here are some of Johnson's reasons for splitting:
- Support for bigotry, hatred, and white supremacism (see: Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, Robert Stacy McCain, Lew Rockwell, etc.)
- Support for throwing women back into the Dark Ages, and general religious fanaticism (see: Operation Rescue, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)
Notice how he names names.
- Support for anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, militias, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)
- Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)
Ah, the birthers made the list...
My absolute favorite is this one:
- Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every
He said at the end of this list that these are just the beginning. He could name alot more reasons. He did not go into detail but, I imagine over the course he has written about that and since I never read that site I am not sure.
I've read today that the republicans are getting fed up with media attention on one of the most extreme, Cheney.
They feel he is making them look like a cartoon.
Cheney's behavior today must make Johnson feel even more like he made the right decision to split from the right for the time being.
