Last night on ABC, Barbara Walters revealed her annual list of the Top 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009. It was an odd mix, an eclectic group. I do not know why she selected some of them and what the criteria is.

The List included:
Lady Gaga
Tyler Perry
Sarah Palin
Adam Lambert
Michael Jackson's children
Kate Gosselin
Glenn Beck
Brett Favre
Jenny Sanford

And then the TOP one is always kept secret and revealed at the end.
It was our First Lady, Michelle Obama.

Some brief summaries below. Basically it was a very lame show. I never watched it before. I will never watch it again. It did get me thinking who would we choose at the TOP 10 MOST FASCINATING PEOPLE if we were to make a list?

Lady Gaga: She is quite reserved in her interviews. She is a performance artist and she emphasized that. She has one hit after another so she does have a loyal audience.  She is different and unique.

Tyler Perry: It was a rather nice interview about how his main goal is to provide for his mother and give her everything she has always wanted. He is quite talented. I never paid much attention to his movies. But he has become very successful and he strikes me as humble and kind.

Sarah Palin: Her favorite thing to do is be with Todd and her kids in Alaska and go out on their snow machines and then eat Moose Chili.  It was such a load of crap. And of course, Barbara added to the crap and said no one was more picked on than Sarah, blah blah.
Barbara also said that they never had a person make the list 2 years in a row until Sarah Palin.  ( ugh ).  All Palin seemed to want  to portray is that she would rather be in Alaska with her husband kids. Then why does she need to foist herself on America and spend everyday bashing Obama, denying global warming, and seeking headlines and attention? She is so fake and transparant.
She also more or less said McCain/Palin lost because McCain would not follow her strategy and plans.  She thinks they could have won had McCain's people listened to her. WTF.

Adam Lambert: Barbara is obsessed that he is gay and that he kissed a man on stage and got banned from Good Morning America. She said some people think he should have hidden his sexuality and not come out to America. He said, : "I am Gay, Deal with it. It was a relief to come out as I have always been gay and I am proud of my sexuality." You go Adam ! Barbara seemed frustrated that Adam is not ashamed or hiding his sexual orientation and that he is a very sexual person.

Michael Jackson's children: Fortunately she did not interview them and she just did a profile of them. Those kids have been through enough without suffering through Barbara.

Kate Gosselin : Reality show drama queen. What a stupid choice, Barbara.

Glenn Beck : She did confront him about his accusations against the President and that he incites people to violence  and he laughed and then started blabbering on and nearly cried. It was much as I expected. He feels freedom is slipping away and we will wake up and wonder where our counry went. He says Obama invited in the Marxists, Communists, and he wants this country to fail and he hates America. But Barbara was awed by his popularity. Ewwwww

Brett Favre: Looks like Favre would not do an interview and passed on that. She just did a profile claiming she knows nothing about football.

Jenny Sanford : Jenny left and she is not going back is the jist of this.
She seems truly disgusted and appalled by her husband. I suddenly found myself liking her.

Then the TOP SPOT went to Michelle Obama.

. Mrs. Obama was gracious, answered all of the questions with ease and I was so proud to know she is our First Lady. And Barbara asked her and all the people on the list some of the dumbest questions I have ever heard.

Who would you include on Your List of the Ten Most Fascinating People of 2009?  I would include the new Justice of the Supreme Court. We have just 2 women on the bench and I think this merits a place on the list.

I will have to think on this and update this diary with my list.

Also please forgive me ahead of time if I mess up the Tags as I am not sure exactly which tags to use.  I would welcome anyone who could fix my tags if they are wrong. I admit, I am weak on tags and I need to study them more. It is just that I seldom do a diary.

I also apologize as this diary is fluff and it lacks substance. But I wanted to comment on Barbara's list and come up with OUR List. I thought it might be fun and a little break between debates..just for fun.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
