I can't even remember when it was it was so long ago, but at some point a few months back I got some email from Democrats.org that made me decide that I wanted to be removed from their mailing list.
It was probably something blaming Republicans for blocking the public option or something similar, while the Senate Democratic leaders are doing exactly that.
I followed the "Click here to unsubscribe from this mailing list" to fill out the "remove me" form, and when they asked why, I wrote something about how I was disappointed in their lack of committment to their 2008 campaign promises and if they weren't going to fight for a progressive agenda I didn't want to get their emails.
Fine right? But fast forward a few months... They keep emailing me, over and over. I've tried numerous times since then to be removed from their email list. Even going so far as to email someone directly asking to be removed.
I know that legally the Democratic Party doesn't have to follow the CANSPAM act that they wrote, because they left themselves out of all the rules (isn't that nice), but that doesn't mean that they have to keep spamming people either.
They should have the common sense to remove someone from their lists who has asked (8 times now? 9? I lost count) to be removed and not take advantage of the loophole they wrote to keep spamming people.
I'm going to apply filters to weed out their spam, but the party should hold itself to higher standards. Spammers are the scum of the earth.
