Well, the incompetence and ignorance of the previous administration and their WARS against Terror for Profit has finally come to fruition, because it sure didn't come home to roost. Well, unless home is Russia or Norway or maybe even Angola.
Sure, I know the con's made a killing off of the Iraq war (yes, you can take that two ways). But, oh my goodness! They were shooting for so much more! Remember the whole being accepted as liberator's thingy? Winning hearts and minds? Wait until after the surge and when everything has calmed down we will be treated FINALLY as liberator's?
That schtick got old on about day two of being spouted by the Bush Cheney / Halliburton Administration, however, as usual the national US press reported it as if it were the honest-to-goodness real truth or something.
Those of us with half a brain or more knew that when you invade someone else's space and start killing people, well, they don't usually throw flowers and candy at you. When you go about it as incompetently as the previous administration did, the locals can get kinda uppity and all in your face like "WTF, man! You are killing my family, ruining my homeland and I'm not diggin' your attempts to set me free from whatever the hell it is you are freeing me from. I never knew terror until now."
The newly minted governor's of Iraq seem to agree. We just are not their bestest buddies and they don't seem to think they owe us anything. Not landing fields for the Cheney / Halliburton whet dream to attack Iran for even more access to "easy oil" and not their oil fields either.
Oh yes! Especially not their oil fields. The largest of those they bartered off to Russia with an assist from Norway.
Lukoil Group Wins Iraq Oil Auction
A consortium that includes Russia's private oil giant Lukoil has won the biggest prize in the final round of Iraq's largest postwar oil auction.
The deal gives Lukoil and Norway's Statoil ASA rights to develop the major West Qurna Phase 2 field in Iraq's relatively calm south.
The field was the biggest offered Saturday on the second day of bidding in Iraq's biggest postwar oil auction.
Sure, I know the bidding isn't over, but still, not a good start if you want to bring that lovely oil money home to the States, con's!
As our soldiers say, Mr. Cheney, embrace the suck fail!
