Is there any reason to continue with this charade called health care reform? After working steadily since May as a local leader around this issue, I have had enough. My troops have lost heart and are turning away from Obama in utter bafflement that we could have been this badly punked.
Mandates without a strong public option.
Mandates without a Medicare buy in.
= the final looting of the American middle class
Obama does not seem to have anywhere near the fire we need to turn around this debacle called the 21st century in the USA.
What do we need to do to kill this bill? Congress does not respond to the reality of the polls, to our calls, letters, emails.
Is there any way to stop this insanity? Given the record of the past seven months, I honestly wonder if there is any pressure we can bring to bear that means a single thing.
Are we all going to have to swallow mandates and the final looting of the treasury that this travesty will create?
If Obama thinks he can sign this travesty and declare victory, he is delusional. You cannot promise sweeping change and deliver more of the same. Had he promised less, much, much less, perhaps he could pass this off as the best anyone could do. Under the circumstances, nicey, nice with the Republicans and Wall Street is just not going to cut it.
I am 62 years old. I will be eligible for Medicare in three years. But this also means I am too old to wait around for the change Obama promised.
I say:
- Kill the Health Care bill.
- Kill the fake Financial Reform bill.
- Build a movement completely outside the party and even the electoral system.
The corporate masters are not going to let go of our throats unless we throw them off. We cannot throw them off via an electoral system which is bought and sold by these masters.
I'm not even sure there is any way to stop this monstrosity at this point. Perhaps the American public will have to commit mass civil disobedience by resisting the mandate provisions across the board.
Kill Bill and Pivot
UPDATE
p.s. I am not suggesting a third party. I am suggesting a mass movement akin to unionizing the majority of the American public. There really isn't time to build a viable third party to save this Republic. What we can do is organize locally to resist. Get lawyers on board to fight the mandates should the bill become law. Create local communities of people who help one another with the practical necessities of life.
