LMAO !!!
I cannot stop laughing at this little-covered news nugget about how climate change denier, Evolution basher and all around good 'ol teabagger batshit crazy, Senator Inhofe from Oklahoma 's trip to Copenhagen went....
Apparently he had two messages: Global warming / Climate change is a hoax and the U.S will never vote for a cap and trade bill AND republicans will be back in power next year..
Let's just say the trip didn't go so well....
According to First read ( http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/.... ) and Politico ( http://www.politico.com/... ), the Senator traveled nine hours in hopes of delivering his big news conference and relevant meetings.
Ahem.
" What he found when he got here: a few aides and a single reporter.
"I think he's going to be a ittle disappointed," one of his aides remarked "
His aides came to the rescue :
" Inhofe's aides eventually rustled up a group of reporters, and the Oklahoman -- wearing black snakeskin cowboy boots -- held forth from the top of a flight of stairs in the conference media center.
"We in the United States owe it to the 191 countries to be well-informed and know what the intentions of the United States are. The United States is not going to pass a cap and trade," he said. "It's just not going to happen."
A reporter asked: "If there's a hoax, then who's putting on this hoax, and what's the motive?"
"It started in the United Nations," Inhofe said, "and the ones in the United States who really grab ahold of this is the Hollywood elite." "
How freakin hilarious is this?? Lol . There's more:
"Other than holding the press briefing, Inhofe said he had a couple of "not significant" meetings and dodged questions about who specifically he planned to meet with. "I'm meeting with you guys right now," he said. "
Love it...but of course, the icing on the cake :
" One German reporter told him, "You're ridiculous."
Inhofe ignored the jab fielded a few more questions, then raced to the airport for the nine-hour flight b Washington. After Inhofe left, some reporters were still a bit confused about wh happened and who he was. 'His name is Inhofe,' a German journalist told a Japa reporter, 'but I don't know if it's one or two f's.'"
I am laughing but I should be crying that these are the people that represent us.
And journalists should take note. When someone is ranting nonsense do call them out !
Foreign policy ( http://blog.foreignpolicy.com/... ) sums it up : I'm with stupid.
