You know the nearer your destination, the more you're slip-sliding away.
That is the case with the the health care bill being touted by the US Senate. A week ago, progressives saw the public option trashed while given an opportunity to cheer at the idea of a medicare buy-in for US citizens aged 55 - 64.
Then, enter the Corporate Dem's with their concern trolling of the bill along with their favorite abortion debate issues and what we've seen is a possibly good bill slip-sliding away for American's and especially the women of America.
Lieberman and Nelson. Snowe and Collins. Not one of them stood up for the people of America, and in fact Lieberman and Nelson stood up only for their corporate overlords. Snowe and Collins did not stand up for women in America, instead they buried their heads in the snow and ignored the needs and constitutional rights of their fellow female American's for their own reasons. Whatever those might be. Let's call it greed for lack of a better word.
This morning I read that the new Senate bill, with the attack on women's rights and the lack of corporate competition or even medicare buy-in provisions will be a shoo-in vote for Democrat's between today and Christmas.
Sure it will.
Why am I skeptical that even this travesty won't come to fruition? Because...
