LaFeminista in "Shut Up You Stupid Woman" and slinkerwink in Why This Senate Health Bill Should Not Pass are right.

Many people have argued about the "mandatory" and compared this insurance to automobile accident insurance. Below I recount my own experience with automobile insurance.

When I first got my own automobile and insured it, my insurance was cheep. I paid less than $80 a year for Geico insurance in New Jersey. That included comprehensive, maximum liability, uninsured motorist, and collision. Then New Jersey decided to have mandatory insurance. Under the new rules requiring all companies to cover to accept drivers from an a pool of motorists who could not find insurance, GEICO decided they could no longer make a profit in the state and left. I had to find new insurance and paid over $500 a year for my new insurance.

Now I am insured in the Federal Employee Health Benefit plan. I am over 60 with diabetes and high blood pressure. I had to take a medical retirement. I fully expect the Senate bill will impose taxes on my "high" end insurance. Further, I expect the caps to be reduced and my rates to be increased. How much? Who knows.

Making insurance mandatory and then putting public dole behind the insurance for very poor families is bound to increase rates, just like automobile insurance rates in New Jersey went up for me. A form of public - say medicare for all - insurance is needed.

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

pootie, pootie, pootie diaries - except I won't HR your tip jars. Stop your senseless attacks on them and quit HR'ing the diarists with no comments so that you can't get HR'd for trolling. This kind of behavior doesn't go unnoticed and if it goes on, it will be reported to the admins. We don't wish you any ill will and would prefer you leave these diaries alone - but your behavior is not winning you any friends. Please consider that Kos and MB have both given the community diaries their approval and feel free to just ignore them.

No more than for symbolic effect.

So why do you think I have the power to "hr?" If I did, then wouldn't I have used it earlier? Who are you to say what should and should not receive an hr?

I think people such as yourself are bullies. My tip jar on my diary was hidden I imagine by people who love bullying.

Yes I dislike the diaries, and yes I have objected to them in the past. I only did a google search on pooties because of the titles of many of diaries. No, it never occurred to me that pooties meant cats.

So many took offense that there was an alternate meaning to the word pooties that you didn't like. So you pissed me off.

Whether I am knocked off of Dailykos or not, does is not my biggest worry. So your worst. Go search out all my comments and hr them if that makes you happy.

Regarding hide rating tip jars, MB has said something to the effect that if you feel you must (HR a tip jar) you should leave a comment explaining your rationale. What you've done, i.e., hitting the tip jar in khloemi's last two pootie diaries with no explanation, is childish, passive-aggressive behavior. It's also cowardly and, IMO, a form of stalking.

              •  and the reason was nonsensical (0+ / 0-)

There were two points I have made in comments to the pooties diaries. The points are:

                1. the diaries are irrelevant to the purpose of DailyKos to promote democratic politicians, politics and policies; and
                1. pooties has an alternate meaning that makes the word pooties appearing in a diary title a poor choice.

Rather than discuss either point with me my comments get hred as being disruptive and trolling. Well I disagree with that position completely. I see no need to make these points again and again since they will not be discussed.

As to following rules - turn me in. Go ahead. I don't give a royal . . . So my account is turned off. Big deal. I really do not care that much.

                But do what you must.

And by the way, I love cats and dogs. I have had a cat since I was a child and currently own four cats. My only dog was a wonderful sheltie who I loved very much.

But picture diaries every day of cats and dogs is a bit much.

particularly relating to retaliatory HR's.  Your comments in the pootie & woozle diary were HR'd because you trolled the diary.  Your diary whining about it was HR'd because it was disruptive, ignorant, and just plain whining.  That's why you received HR's not just from the people whose community diary you trolled, but also from people who had absolutely zero interest in them.  I don't know how you managed to gain TU status, but your misuse of it in "retaliation" is most definitely an abuse.

I've never been a fan of the old "HR on sight" routine, but someone who consistently behaves like you have makes me start reconsidering that position.  If you don't like the pootie & woozle diaries, then stay out of them.  It's that simple.

I think that I have had enough of you telling me how things will be. Today I choose a new way to go ... and it goes through you!

              •  I have read the FAQ several years ago (0+ / 0-)

I do not read the FAQ every day.

I do not find my comments disruptive. Apparently any contrary comment on a pootie diary is disruptive. This is unlike other diaries I see where there are often disagreements.

As I said to symbolic liberal do your worst to me. Big deal. I will move on.
