Okay, he didn't say that, but he might as well have.
According to this post from Mark Kleiman, Congressman Henry Waxman proves that the Bush administration is either incompetent, malevolent, or just lazy - or some cominbation of the three. Rather than try to paraphrase what Kleiman said, I will simply put it here:
Did you know that in 2001 the Institute of Medicine recommended the creation of a National Vaccine Authority, and that the Bush Administration took no action on that recommendation?
Did you know that in 2002 the GAO recommended that the FDA create a fast-track process for vaccine approvals, and that the Bush Administration too no action on that recommendation?
Me neither. But Congressman Henry Waxman knows, and documents, those facts, and additional ways in which the Bush Administration was asleep at the switch.
So, guys, how many reasons not to vote for these idiots are we up to now? It seems like they keep surprising us. This is why I say, never claim that they cannot go any lower. They always manage to do exactly that.
