Evening, all. So here's a little bonus that the daytime crowd didn't get: I'm reading a fantastic book now. Sure, it's not new, but it's the PERFECT...and I mean PERFECT...book to have in your hot little hands right now.
It's called "Rating the Presidents" by William Ridings, Jr. and Stuart McIver. Using modern polling methods and a large bank of scholars, politicians and other smarty pants-types, they've managed to rank the U.S. Presidents from best to worst. It's really solid stuff, and it helps put Bush in perspective (although the book only goes to Clinton, it's pretty clear that Dubya would fall in the middle somewhere). Plus, each president gets about 3-4 pages each, making it excellent bathroom/bathtub/bus station/checkout line reading.
Today's poll is a bit lopsided, but the response is huge. Don't be shy...tell us who you think the best [you'll see when you go there] is.
The evening encore of Cheers and Jeers is...why, lookie lookie...it's right here: http://www.bill-in-portland-maine.dailykos.com/story/2004/3/12/16135/2298
Have a great weekend. Break a few minor laws.
