Dear activist Kossacks,
Alaska could use a little help on this. Anyone can vote. To help tip the balance in the favor of Alaska citizens, Alaska Democrats, and Alaska Democratic Senators, please go the following link and vote "yes" on the following question:
New Juneau Empire Poll of the Week:
Should Senate Democrats continue to reject Gov. Sarah Palin’s appointments to the Juneau seat until she sends forward one of the four names recommended by the local Democratic party?

(New edit) The poll question is located in the lower left hand corner of the Juneau Empire's home page. Scroll down to the bottom. And thanks again.
This is the vacant Senate seat representing Juneau left by Sen. Kim Elton who was plucked by Interior Secretary Ken Salazar for head of Alaska affairs with Interior. The Governor appoints. Senate Democrats must approve. Traditional process is for party with vacant seat to put forth names from which Governor makes a choice.
Juneau has put forth the name of Beth Kerttula as their first choice, and submitted three additional names of Juneau Democrats with qualifications.
Rep. Beth Kerttula has served Alaskans with diligence and grace for many years as House Minority Leader. She is Juneau's obvious first choice.
Palin's first selection was Tim Grussendorf, not on the Juneau Democrat's list, who just remembered a few weeks ago he was registered as a Republican. Senate Democrats rejected this choice.
Palin's second choice was Joe Nelson, not on the Juneau Democrat's list, a young Alaska native with close ties to Sealaska Corporation--which, as an organization generally represents corporate Republican values. Senate Democrats rejected this choice.
Anyone can vote in Juneau Empire poll, and therefore corporate Republican types may hop on the poll question.
Therefore Kossack help at this time would be greatly appreciated. Alaska Democratic Senators have been developing their backbone and could use an expression of appreciation and support at this time.
Poll results are posted in real time and no doubt Alaska's Democratic Senators will be watching.
Thank you. From an Alaskan who wants better government.
