There's going to be a "tea party" tomorrow in my city.
I'm seriously thinking about going.
Update -- getting good advice here on action vs inaction, etc.
I was going to make a sign, but I think I'll just take a rolled-up piece of posterboard to use for a low-tech bullhorn. Yell things like, "Patriots pay their taxes".
I thought for a while it might be cool to show up in a suit and get into the crowd before I start yelling. Maybe get close to the front of the crowd before ripping off my blazer to reveal the "Greedy Bastards" written on my back in sharpie.
Doubt I'll do that -- they could probably make me disappear for something like that.
I'd like to go and make some noise. I'm afraid I'll be alone out there, though. That would suck.
The tea party is being held at the new library. If there's any elecrical equipment, it will be being fed from there. So the venue, and the power, will be, hmmm, paid for by my tax dollars.
Anybody got the great list of things the Libruls have done? You know, "Steve the Republican listens to the FCC-regulated airwaves while driving on good roads, etc etc"? I've seen it here before -- I should print out 1000 copies and put them on windshields. Update Here it is, thanks to Joy221!
Are we going to do something? Make some noise, hold up some signs, whatever?
One of the reasons I am still not 100% sure of going is I don't trust myself to stay civil. I'm mad as hell, and I think my anger may just get me into trouble.
UPDATE 2 Thanks to the levelheadedness of the Kos community, I have decided upon my course of action. Quiet flyering (see above). Thanks for keeping me out of trouble -- again.
