Well, the Republicans are already crying, and the mainstream press already has Obama's Racism in sight: White Men Need Not Apply.
It's obvious that Atrios' suggestion to renominate Bork will just add to the gross underrepresentation of majorities on the supreme court.
Photographic evidence, and a suggestion below.
Remember, No white males need apply.
If Obama has his way, white males will only be represented by 75% of the Supreme Court! And only 53% for Catholics! This is the worst thing that has happened to this country since Taxation with Representation was foisted on us by Obama.
So obviously the only bipartisan thing to do is to nominate only white catholic males to the supreme court. Otherwise the Republican's will be forced to go back on their beliefs that there should be an up-or-down vote, that you can't ask question about abortion or any issue that the court might rule on, that bringing up question about the past is partisan bickering and character assassination, and anything else they've said during the last 8 years.
Personally, I hope Obama isn't quite so partisan. I have my own nominee to suggest.
My daughter. She'd bring important insight to both the female, and toddler populations. (I'm raising her as a liberal, but we won't tell anyone that.) Sure, she doesn't have a law degree--but she learns really fast, she almost crawled the other day. And she says both da-da and ma-ma, so she's well on her way to writing legal opinions more cogent than some justices I could name.
Other advantages:
- All photos of the Supremes become 1000% cuter.
- Anyone arguing with her will look like a jerk for making her cry
and 3) Just think how long she could serve! The Republican's would be stuck with her forever.
But I'm sure Obama will just ignore both Halperin and I, and nominate some deep-thinking, experienced judge who won't be all that liberal and may no be white, and will be painted by the GOP as a socialist, Islamic, criminal incompetent. And then Obama will told he's not bipartisan enough.
