Markos is only using Twitter in its 'scratch' mode perhaps a third of the time, reporting on what he is doing. Another third of his messages are conversations with fellow Kossacks, and most interestingly a third of his messages are links to articles which are not placed anywhere on DailyKos. The flow of Tweets is rather like a peek into his short term memory; not the post worthy results, but access to some of the material that goes into the making of those posts.
Hadn't thought about it that way, but it's true -- Twitter has sort of become my sounding board, where I throw up thoughts and links to stuff that may not merit a full-on piece on this site, but which help form my take and opinions on things. If you're on Twitter, I'm @markosm.
Imagine an Islamist fanatic had assassinated a pro-Israel rabbi in a synagogue, and had harassed synagogues for years, including one arrest for bomb materials in his car. Imagine if one of his associates had tried to kill the rabbi before. Would there be any question that this was Islamist terror? So why is this not Christianist terror?
It is, even if right-wingers would rather pretend that such things don't exist. DHS says right-wing domestic terrorism could rise? Outrage! Meanwhile, doctors and policemen are being gunned down by the right-wing crazies.
Let's see, Bush/Cheney tortured; Pelosi may have been briefed on the torture; she claims she was misled during the briefings; so what we really need is to investigate whether Pelosi really was briefed on torture -- without investigating the torture.
The only thing sadder than this stupid line of GOP attack has been Pelosi's inability to refute it. It's inherently stupid, should be easy enough to kill.
