Senator Obama speaks above our level, I guess.
"Too much reliance on procedural remedies", I seem to have heard he said on TV today.
He was talking about us, the Democrats, who are "unable to win elections" therefore we can't make ourselves heard by the American people.
Maybe I misunderstood the Senator but, he got all this wrong. (more)
He said that "we need to win more elections", convince the American people, make them understand that our "core values" relate to their own.
You know what, Mr. Obama?
Get real!
When was the last time you did something in politics without making a calculation about your own stance?
When was the last time you did something without looking out for yourself first, the people second?
I understand that you have plans for your own political future, however, don't be naive. You are the one who will need our work and votes, no the other way around.
Don't be condescending, the old style politics is over, dead. We will communicate with our representatives directly, you don't want to listen to us, that is your privilege, indeed, and your loss too.
If you ever want to run for the Presidency, wake up and acknowledge your base.
Is the government "of the people, by the people and for the people" after all, Senator.
