Some courses of action seem obvious to me and so I'm baffled as to what the roadblocks are.
Today, I'll pick just one. Why alcoholics can buy booze. I have 7 friends and acquaintances who are alcoholics, 4 "recovered" and 3 definitely not. One of the recovereds introduced me to 2 other recovereds.
One of the sick ones is a distant relative who was arrested a half-dozen times for drunk driving. His last arrest was in a county where they have a treatment facility. And the judge ordered him to treatment. I wasn't aware that counties have such differing standards of taking care of drunk drivers.
Meanwhile, about the recovered ones. They have strong hearts and strong family. My friend TR knew he was alcoholic when in college. After about 8 years of treatment, he went on the wagon for good.
I was wondering recently "Don't the booze shops know who the alcoholics are ? Alcoholics get their booze from somewhere. It can't all be stolen. So, why isn't it illegal to sell booze to diagnosed alcoholics." And that's my rant for tonight.
For your entertainment, I have the premiere of the Poll of Inexplicability. Tonight's theme is US national politics. Please vote for what you consider the most unimaginable, yet there it is.
