No, this is not snark. I wish it were snark. This is real shit. We have a gigantic economic crisis, health problems too long to list, two wars (not including the war on drugs etc), SCOTUS confirmation hearings and more, but Senator Brownback is worried about mermaids and centaurs.
According to Senator Brownback's blog, and yes, he uses wordpress and the basic format like a 6th grader, he is worried about human/animal hybrids.
U.S. Senator Sam Brownback today with Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) introduced the Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act of 2009.
first off, I'd like to point out members of both parties are wasting their time with this shit.
The Human-Animal Hybrid Prohibition Act would ban the creation of human-animal hybrids. Human-animal hybrids are defined as those part-human, part-animal creatures, which are created in laboratories, and blur the line between species.
in case you are curious what kind of hybrids he might be talking about take a lookhere or here. Those are animal hybrids, the two senators have read way too many science fiction novels. Maybe I'm just underestimating the number of mad scientists out there creating lizard people everywhere.
“Tampering with the human germ-line could be the equivalent to setting a time-bomb that might detonate many generations down the line; but once it is set, there is no reversing course."
So I'm curious for all the intelligent people out there (I do not consider myself one of them) what kind of human/animal hybrids are you afraid of? what kind of science am I not reading about where I could get wings attached, or a dog like sense of smell?
The following senators are orginal co-sponsors: Senators Sam Brownback (R-KS), Mary Landrieu (D-LA), Jim Bunning (R-KY), Richard Burr (R-NC), Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), Tom Coburn (R-OK), Bob Corker (R-TN), John Cornyn (R-TX), Jim DeMint (R-SC), John Ensign (R-NV), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), James Inhofe (R-OK), Mike Johanns (R-NE), Jon Kyl (R-AZ), Mel Martinez (R-FL), John McCain (R-AZ), James Risch (R-ID), John Thune (R-SD), David Vitter (R-LA), George Voinovich (R-OH), and Roger Wicker (R-MS)
I was really hoping senator franken would be on there so he cold rally against the future lizard people of america. I would watch CSPAN for that speech.
This is not an action diary, just something I found that shows how much focus out representatives in DC actually have. I personally wish they would fix one problem before worrying about problems I haven't even heard of. I mean if it were not for this brave group of senators we might have a war on our hands with humanzee's.
