I do. And it did so much damage to America that we are still recovering and Obama is left to pick up the pieces. Let's not let them use the same tactics to shut down discussion of Healthcare Reform in town hall meetings across the nation. They are trying to stop that the same way they stopped the recount.
This angry mob, which successfully stopped the recount in Miami-Dade County during the 2000 election standoff, was portrayed by the media as an uprising by Florida voters.
Here are the identities of the protesters:
- Tom Pyle, policy analyst, office of House Majority Whip Tom DeLay (R-Tex.).
- Garry Malphrus, majority chief counsel and staff director, House Judiciary subcommittee on criminal justice.
- Rory Cooper, political division staff member at the National Republican Congressional Committee.
- Kevin Smith, former House Republican conference analyst and more recently of Voter.com.
- Steven Brophy, former aide to Sen. Fred D. Thompson (R-Tenn.), now working at the consulting firm KPMG.
- Matt Schlapp, former chief of staff for Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.), now on the Bush campaign staff in Austin.
- Roger Morse, aide to Rep. Van Hilleary (R-Tenn.).
- Duane Gibson, aide to Chairman Don Young (R-Alaska) of the House Resources Committee.
- Chuck Royal, legislative assistant to Rep. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).
- Layna McConkey, former legislative assistant to former Rep. Jim Ross Lightfoot (R-Iowa) now at Steelman Health Strategies.

Also known as the Brooks Brothers Riot. Democrats in Congress trying to hold town meetings on Healthcare Reform should remembers this and remember it well. Americans trying to learn more about the current Healthcare Reform bill should be warned that insurance industry sponsored protesters are trying to shut down the discussion so they can hear what the reform is about and so they can voice their own opinion. As noted, this kind of shutdown of the Democratic process by an Angry Republican Mob led to the situation America is in.
