I want my America back. The real America. The one we all know is true and free. Not the
one where crazies run around screaming about our President being born in another
country.
Give me the America, where you aren't afraid to be picked up off the street and thrown in
a military brig, or where your personal information is being taken without warrant or legal
cause.
I want the America that gives out chocolate bars during wars, and not torture.
I want my America back, the one that stood for freedom of speech, and the fairness
for any citizen to achieve greatness. The America my father dreamed about as a young
man in hiding in Hungry during WWII because he was a Jew.
The America where any kid who does well enough in school can go to College and
become a success. Where the banks are there to help you with a loan, and not
a predator.
I want my America, where the news is real, and not made up Newstalk lies just pimping
for a political party.
I want my America where everyone had a shot of a decent wage, and health care, and
a good school for the kids. An America where companies are never too big to
fail. An America where everyone is held accountable to the laws of the land.
Give me an America who is not afraid to call former leaders War Criminals
and hold them accountable.
I want my America back, the one where if you are crazy, they lock you up,
and don't put you on TV, where I have to hear you say crazy shit that
should only be shared with your therapist.
I want my America back. The one that had sense, and didn't have 24/7 propaganda
running on every Newspeak station.
I want the America my immigrant father called, "The greatest Nation in the World.
The land of milk and honey."
I once asked my father why he thought The United States was the greatest
nation on Earth?
His answer, " Shari, in America you can be anything you dream to be. And you
will always be an American first, and free to choose your future."
I still believe we all have incredible freedom of choice, but the game certainly
has changed since 1969, when I had that conversation with my father.
I hope America gets back to the principle of doing the right thing, and not
always the most profitable, that we all truly have a chance to live our dreams,
or at least chase the dream, live it, be it, this is our America. We have the
power to make it all happen. Even if it is hardass work. But nothing that
was worth anything was achieved without hard work.
I want my America back, and I am doing my best to make it the America we all
want it to be. Kudos to KOS, part of the change. Tips to all of you at KOS, a
very productive group indeed.
That's my contribution for this Sat, a very hot one in Alabama. Hope yours
is a fine day.
