As Radio Netherlands reports, the Dutch government is now deliberating whether or not to send 1200 troops to Afghanistan.
One of the three parties in the Rightist government coalition, D66, has said they do not want the troops to go to Afghanistan.
Torture by the US government in Afghanistan and elsewhere plays a big role in this.
If the rest of the ministers will want to go ahead, the D66 ministers may resign; that would be the end of the government.
However, D66 has backed down before.
This time will they show backbone; or will they cowardly give in to the other coalition parties?
On Thursday 22 December, when the government will discuss the issue again, the Dutch peace movement will demonstrate in The Hague not to send the troops to Afghanistan.
The demonstration starts at noon, 12 am at the Plein square in front of the Dutch parliament building.
