Kieth Olbermann said it well today...
Senator Baucus we know what you are, now we're just arguing over price.
With the release of the Baucus plan its not longer up to the imagination why exactly he received so much money from Insurance Companies.
He is a Corporate Whore.
He was paid to derail healthcare.
Yes, I am accusing a sitting Senator of doing something illegal, I am accusing him of betraying the people he represents, the public, and the very system of government itself.
You can call it slander, you can call it libel, you can call it what you like, you can take me to court, you can put me to jail. But I will stand by my words and defend them to the death.
What Max Baucus has done is not only WRONG. It is ILLEGAL.
Today Kieth Olbermann spent several segments examining the bill.
Let us make it clear, it's not that this bill doesn't do enough to reform healthcare, it is that it's reforms make healthcare MORE expensive, LESS accessible, and MORE of a burden on the middle class.
The main means of affordability provided to those who can not afford healthcare comes not from the pockets of the rich, nor the pockets of the insurance companies, but from the pockets of you and me, the common tax payer.
Health Coverage Tax Credit. Certain individuals are eligible for the health coverage tax credit (HCTC). The HCTC is a refundable tax credit equal to 80 percent of the cost of qualified health coverage paid by an eligible individual.
Yes, affordability is provided by Tax Cuts. We all know how well those work, especially for people whose insurance costs more than any form of taxes they pay. We all know how much those poor insurance companies need billions of our tax dollars pumped to them to help them remain solvent. We all know those insurance companies need a bailout...
I could go on and on, quoting this bill, and I will at a later time. But it needs to be well noted, that the solution provided by Senator Baucus is a old REPUBLICAN rallying cry, tax cuts.
It provides no solutions, and is simply a new form of Corporate Welfare, pumping billions of you, and my, dollars to insurance companies.
And to think, all they needed to do to get this done was give some Senator 3 million dollars.
