Today the deathtoll in Iraq has reached 939 American soldiers with thousands of more maimed. The human sausage machine that George W. Bush fired up about a year ago has done its gristly work with such effectiveness that we have proportionately larger casualties compared with Vietnam at the same stage. And this disaster is not even including the 'estimates' (because in a deeply dishonest move, the Bush Administration would not allow them to actually be counted) of the deathtoll amongst the innocent Iraqi people.
So, if you are a Republican... you have at least 939 reasons to re-consider your support of George W. Bush. You may be uncomfortable with John Kerry as the next president, but there is a reason for a two party system, which is to provide another option. Carefully contemplate taking advantage of that option, many people considered George W. Bush to be a moderate Republican and have been sorely disappointed to have voted for a 'stealth' radical. You could very likely be happy with 'giving the other team a shot' no matter what 'bad things' you may have heard about John Kerry.
And, if you are not a Republican... you have at least 939 reasons to consider doing all you can to replace the current employee in the White House. You may be uncomfortable with John Kerry as well. But in my opinion, electing a replacement for George W. Bush is the paramount choice for this election cycle. If you are a 'Nader voter', or a Libertarian, a Reform party voter, ask yourself if you want to engage in any activity that helps George W. Bush retain any vestige of the ability to further muck things up as horribly as he has.
There are already 939 reasons to carefully consider your vote in this important election cycle and likely to be 1000 and more by the election. The spirits of our lost children cry out and the entire world is watching as well. I for one, have faith that the American people have the wisdom to make the right choice.
That's why I work at registering as many US citizens to enable us to make that choice.
