We're all pretty good with the verbiage around here, what with all the diarying and commenting and all...
And as such, we all have a collection of favorite quotes, right? Those pithy sayings we've uncovered in our literary travels, and keep close like little pearls? Now's your chance to share with us your favorite quotations!
Here are just a few of mine:
Knowledge is Power. - - Sir Francis Bacon
Hope is the thing with feathers that perches in the soul. And sings the tune without the words, and never stops at all. - - Emily Dickinson
Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails...But now faith, hope, love, abide these three; but the greatest of these is love. - - 1 Corinthians 13:4-7,13
War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children. - - Jimmy Carter
May the long time Sun shine upon you, All love surround you. And the pure light within you, Guide your way home. - - Irish Blessing
What are some of yours?

From JanF:
This comment by NCrissieB reminds us that national polls on health care reform are meaningless when it comes to getting the votes needed in the Senate.
From JG in MD:
Adapting to Politics and Nature, by maryabein
Gravedugger offers a cogent plan to hold manufacturers and importers accountable for the toxic junk they sell us and reminds us of the difference between the ROC and the PRC.
From mydailydrunk:
Cogent insightful rebuke by ruscle to a now-HR'ed comment
{Diarist's note: if needed, let me know and I'll repost ruscle's comment out of hidesville}
From Diogenes2008:
This is from dmitcha's excellent diary on race today. There were so many brilliant comments in that diary, but this one really struck home with me, especially this paragraph.
In all of my strongest experiences of passionate, multicultural dialogue, the emphasis was on understanding others rather than being understood. That single shift, if all of those engaged were in that space, moved mountains and healed pain.
When we move away from "Hey, that's not what I meant!" and into "Hey, that's awful how it affected you. Are you okay talking about it a bit?," tone shifts because intention does.
From Cedwyn:
One for tonight, from sherijr.
From your Humble Diarist, brillig:
voracious responds to SamSinister's theory that Palin's new gig w Faux is merely a tuneup for 2012.
I am scared shitless that we're gonna lose Teddy's seat to the 'Pubs. Penguins in Burma is exactly the type of person I hope gets to the polls next Tuesday
From BeninSC:
This comment by KroneckerD expressed a truth many of us felt upon reading LeanneB's remarkable diary, atop the rec list.
