This won't be much of a diary: news is recorded in previous diaries regarding the devastation in Haiti, the full extent of which is unknown. What we may safely surmise is that many citizens of Haiti will be suffering and in need of care.
Many Daily Kos readers will appreciate that Dr. Paul Farmer, who founded Partners in Health and has been a significant advocate for health care for poor people around the globe, has been a strong advocate for the health care needs of the citizens of Haiti, and has personally devoted his life, passion, and talent to the people of Haiti.
For this reason, I hope Kos readers and followers will join me in sending resources to this organization which will have contacts, resources and knowledge in meeting the immediate needs of people in Haiti, following this catastrophic earthquake and its aftermath.
You can link to Partners in Health to find the contact information for Partners in Health, and specify your donation as Earthquake relief for Haiti.
I've mailed a check, and hope others will join me, and put money in PIH's hands which will enable them to use their established channels to put immediate resources at the service of the Haitian people.
Please make a donation. If you can't, please pray for all the souls who already endure so much and will be worse off.
Thank you!
UPDATE: I can't fix the darned link: please forgive my poor skills. I typed in the appropriate listing and smarter DKOS members will give you better links in the comments.
