MPR Polinaut's had shocking news. Bachmann is backing a bigoted tweet-scrubbing GOP creep for a Minnesota senate seat.
GOP candidate Mike Parry bills himself as "Mr. Conservative." And he is: his most notable political achievement so far has been getting caught scrubbing his tweets of the various homophobic and racist statements he's made about fellow Americans! And Bachmann is backing him.
Yes, he's famous for calling Barack Obama a "Power Hungry Arrogant Black Man!" And for scrubbing it! And for denying that he scrubbed it! And for not denying that he wrote it! And for not putting it back up, after it was scrubbed, which is the same as "leaving it scrubbed," so that counts as "Mike scrubbing it!" And (wait for it, there's more, continued--)
Yes, Mike Parry is famous for trying to link Democrats to pedophiles! And for scrubbing that one! And for claiming that he didn't scrub it! And for not putting it back up after it was scrubbed! And for claiming that he probably wrote that because he read something that made him think that Dems were in league with pedophiles!
No demands for his resignation as a candidate from the new, reconstituted, "hate is IN, these days," Michele Bachmann-style GOP. Parry is still able to successfully bill himself as "Mr. Conservative" with the MN GOP--despite his active racism, homophobia, and overt lying. Which tells you all you need to know about the MN GOP, and why we fight.
Here's Bachmann endorsing him yesterday:
Bachmann backs Parry

Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann has weighed in on next week's special election in state Senate District 26 with an endorsement of GOP candidate Mike Parry.

And oh yeah, one more thing: the Minnesota news story on Bachmann's endorsement of this creep doesn't reference the fact of Parry's racist, bigoted, smearing, scrubbing tweets--because our state's political media doesn't do that (put two and two together, when a Minnesota hater with a history of hateful statements endorses another one. Our professional political media just won't cover that legitimate and newsworthy angle--which is another reason "why we fight.")

Next:
Yes, Sarah Palin will come to Minnesota to campaign for Bachmann. You may put that in your "WFC?" file, but I have to note it.
GOP Rep. Michele Bachmann announced today that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will visit Minnesota to campaign for her on April 7th.
Here's the take on the DCCC v. Bachmann:
Bachmann is expected to face a spirited challenge in her reelection run in 2010. The DCCC has listed Minnesota's 6th as one of its Races to Watch list. That means the political arm of House Democrats will likely put resources and effort into the race.
And here's something I had not heerd:
Bachmann and Palin will both appear next month at the National Tea Party Convention in Tennessee.
My understanding was that Palin wasn't going to this grass roots defense of American liberty event, because "the money wasn't right."
And here's another bombshell for you:
Palin's visit to Minnesota fuels speculation that Bachmann could back Palin over (Minnesota Gov. Tim) Pawlenty in the race for the White House.
See, that is a bombshell. Because I know that the particular reporter who wrote happens to be pretty bright. And he is taking the possibility of a Palin presidential run seriously. (Here on the Kos, it's long been dismissed as joke. I regularly got joking comments from readers here suggesting "Palin/Bachmann 2012!" bumperstickers. These have tapered off, recently--not as funny, what with the "hey, the crazy conservatives may be electable!" headlines.)
