In the wake of the Supreme Court of the United States of America’s January 21, 2010 monumental legal decision in the case of Citizens United v. FEC, which overturned 100 years of legal precedent and effectively pronounced that in America, Qm (money) does indeed = Qfs (free speech), it is becoming apparent to many citizens of this once great country that the only recourse left to the American People to protect and preserve our democratic republic and prevent
"Our Government of the People, by the People and for the People"
from finally becoming
"A Government of the People by the Corporations and for the Corporations",
is for the American People to join the forthcoming battle by forming the largest Corporation small money can buy. Our hope is that this will become the largest Corporation ever know to exist on Planet Earth. It shall be dedicated solely to the Preservation of Democracy and the American Experiment.
It has thus been proposed that a new national not-for-profit corporation be legally formed and be called the Corporation to Preserve Democracy (aka CPD). The singular purpose of this new behemoth will be to battle those forces, both at home and abroad, that would usurp the power granted us by the US Constitution, stifle our speech, and buy our government. All CPD revenues will be dedicated towards purchasing, placing and disseminating all forms of speech to effect the realization of our mission.
It is further proposed that CPD revenues shall be generated by solely by subscription to the corporation. No person shall own more than one share in the corporation. And one share equals one vote. Shareholders shall join by contributing an initial sum of $5, and shall thereafter and maintain their share by contributing the equivalent of $1 per week to the Corporation. The repeating fees may be paid in annual lump sum, by monthly or quarterly installment, or by automatic payroll deduction.
Fair and just compensation (at amounts determined by the shareholders) will be provided to our corporate leaders and directors, who shall be elected by the corporate shareholders at a national shareholders meeting. In the CPD, the shareholders shall be the deciders.
Although the CPD corporate organizational structure and specific action plans are yet to be fully fleshed out, nominations for leadership positions are already pouring in. The current leading candidates are as follows:
Chief Executive Officer................Howard Dean
Chief Financial Officer..................Paul Krugman
Chief Officer of Action Policy........Alan Grayson
Chief Information Officer(s).........Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow
Chief Legal Officer(s)...................John Dean, Jonatahn Turley
So come on people. Join the CPD. Make Ben Franklin proud. Keep your Democratic Republic working for YOU.
