Once again, 3c man abandoned his post.

I wonder if he will stop by in a few hours or not (he did last week).

I also wonder how to garner a few more comments than I managed last week.  It was among my lower-commented community diaries ever :-(.

So join me for some photos and links, and share what you're doing home on a Satuday night.

Sometimes it feels like I don't do very much right - I get lost in the cycle of dishes and laundry and picking kids up and stuff.  And I slip up here and there and spend too much time thinking about it.

Lately, I had the opportunity to notice a few things I did right, and thought I would share them, and see if you-all would be willing to share a few things you did right too.

A.  We are traveling to Germany and Scotland this summer, all for husband's work.  I am already aware that our passports are issued at 3 different dates, but I couldn't remember which dates or a pattern.

So I emailed husband that we should check.  And he said it wasn't important.  So I bugged him.

  1.  I won - he checked.
  1.  HIS EXPIRES - IN MARCH!!  So he needs to send in his renewal in soon!

B.  A few weeks ago, I prepared for bed on a Sunday evening.  Husband was out of town and the kids were in bed so I had a little extra time.  I noticed a tiny spot of athlete's foot between a couple toes, so I dabbed on some Lotrimin, tossed on a clean white cotton sock, and went to bed.

The next morning, my toes were swollen, and all morning I watched it get worse.  By noon it looked like this:

I asked in the pootie diary about a doctor visit, and made an appointment for later that afternoon.  The red streaks are a good tip to see a doctor ASAP.  And the speed of the germ was scary.

The antibiotic was slow to work, and I went back for a checkup on day 5, but my foot finally finished healing, and the germs never got into my bloodstream.

C.  I bought a santa hat for our cat, Pecos the Wonder Kitteh, so I could take silly pet pictures:

D.  I'm also really good at planning for and packing for trips.  And finding interesting things to do with the kids while husband is working.  I am excellent at prescription refills, and coordinating them with travel plans.

I take lots of pictures of my family's activities:

(i usually don't remember to take pix at dinner parties i host, and i want to work on that).

E.  And I taught my kids to have a sense of humor.  Although living with kids without that sense might be not fun.

So, what are you doing home?  And what have you done right?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
