I have been on cloud nine since the New York Times published my letter to the editor regarding Citizens United v. FEC.
The Supreme Court’s ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission paves the way for the corporate takeover of electoral politics, self-government and democracy.
The only solution to prevent this is to add a new amendment to the Constitution: No corporation, limited liability entity or other corporate entity created by state or federal law or the law of another nation shall make donations of money or other things of value in connection, directly or indirectly, with a federal, state or local election.

But today someone decided to respond to it by leaving an anonymous message on my voice-mail sounding like they were trying to intimidate me.
To the best of my ability this is what the man said on the recording.
I appreciate your letter to the editor. I just wanna make you aware of one thing. Corporations are made up of citizens of the United States alright, they're the everyday citizens that work for a living. Also why are the unions able to donate and spend 100's of millions of dollars to elect their people yet a corporation which comprises non-union workers possibly and that may have 100 people working there they're not able to contribution and voice their opinions on an election or advertise. Unions can go ahead and spend I believe it was 270 million to elect people this past year. May be you might want to give that a little thought or get your facts straight - bye.
My impressions from this caller is that he is a white male in his 50's or 60's who was very angry. He sounded as though he may be overweight and smoked (or did smoke at one time). He had a very spiteful tone in his voice and clearly tried to be intimidating. There were no good vibes coming from this message.
My first question. Who is this guy, do I know him and does he know me?
Second question. How did he get my home telephone number?
The caller ID states that the caller came from *redacted*. A Rhode Island area code but I do not know the exchange. I tried Googling it but nothing really comes up except "cell-phone".
I tried calling that number but it automatically answers that no voice-mail has been set up for this number.
I have gathered from the comment thread that the call came from Providence and the carrier is New Cingular Wireless Pcs, Llc and because no voice-mail has been setup that suggests that this comes from one of those pre-paid phones that someone can buy at a convenience store. Whoever this guy is, he does not want to be called back.
So, why would someone do this?
My only real theory is that some Republican operative out there worries that this might become a real electoral issue come November and that it threatens their possible return to power.
