| Tonight on TDS, Newt Gingrich Author, To Try Men's Souls,; and on TCR, George Stephanopoulos, Anchor, Good Morning America. |
George Stephanopoulos is now on Good Morning America, and if his site & twitter feed are any indication, Newt Gingrich is still working that Contract On America (I don't feel like looking at them again, not even long enough to grab the link -- google it up, you'll find them). So it's another lazy diary night for me (well, except for this stuff).
Well, Gingrich also has a book out. The Daily Show site links to the B&N page, where I noted that Publisher's Weekly is unimpressed, and Kirkus ends with this:
The prose is rich in platitudes, especially when the underimagined characters are making speeches to each other. It takes more than vividly rendered battlescenes to make compelling historical fiction.
The homegrown B&N review and Library Journal (written by this guy) liked it, though.

And yeah, Stephen's got Stephanopolous. This is something I'm uninterested in. Except that typing that first sentence was kinda cool. Sounds sorta like, oh, maybe some sort of 'Stephen syndrome?"
