Word is circulating around Arkansas fast that Bill Halter is about to pull the trigger on the Senate race. There's no confirmation yet, but this is coming in the wake of the facebook group's phone bomb this week.

The rumor is that he could declare in 24 hours!
Keep your fingers crossed on this guys! All of us in the Facebook group got an enthusiastic response from the Halter people and it looks like we MIGHT have made a difference.
This race is winnable. Lincoln has, to use an Arkansas expression, pissed in her cheerios big time and everyone in the state seems to be mad as hell at her: Democrats think she's too conservative, Independents think she's ineffective, and Republicans think she's too liberal no matter what she does to appease them.
If Halter is in this race then it's a good thing for all of us. He won the Lt. Gov office big and is a fundraising powerhouse and excellent at staying on message. He's a candidate that can win, unlike the odious and incompetent Blanche Lincoln.
What's more, he has a proven record of success-getting a state lottery on the ballot to fund higher education, bringing a free clinic event to Little Rock, standing up for the rights of LGBT people, etc. Halter was against Bush's social security plan (he ran the Social Security office under Clinton for awhile) and was against the Iraq War from the get go. He would be a great Democrat to have the U.S. Senate, and I'm confident that he could beat Lincoln and any of the Republicans here.

UPDATE:Halter spokesman Bud Jackson: "Nothing has changed. The lieutenant governor continues to focus on his re-election while also considering the available options to best serve Arkansans."
Sounds like a BIG non denial to me.
