Are you kidding me John? I mean really.

Everyone has heard Mayer’s infamously insincere apologies by now. How this singer/songwriter not only used the ‘N’ word during a Playboy interview, but took the added step of offending and attacking Black women everywhere.
A well-known womanizer even by Hollywood standards, when asked if Black women came on to him, this not-so-smooth operator wickedly pronounced that he didn’t think he made himself open to it. "My d–k is sort of like a white supremacist. I’ve got a Benetton heart and a f–kin’ David Duke cock," he thoughtlessly uttered.
Oh John. Wow. Truth be told, I am a hip-hop and R&B type of girl, but I started vibing with this cat, and following his music after the release of his anthem "Your Body Is A Wonderland." And then, in the midst of Black history month no less, and at a time when we all need to demonstrate a little more acceptance, understanding and love for one another, my man chooses to make his ignorance as much a part of public sentiment as is his music.
So certainly, as an African-American woman, I take great and personal offense to such prejudice distinction. Please our singer/poets who sway so many minds, don’t allow your own ignorance to perhaps steer so many hearts into the land of negativity.
As for Mr. Mayer, may I introduce to you Michelle Obama, the radiant First Lady our president has taken as his wife. She is without question one of the brightest and most beautiful women on the planet. But most of all, and never get it twisted, the heart and the spirit of Black women everywhere are the true and forever wonderlands. John, I thought you knew.
