Progressive media lately is doing a great Job Debunking CON myths
3 examples recently from maddow, olbermann and huffpo
Rachel Maddow eviscerated Glen Beck for spreading the "snowstorms mean no global warming myth" on this segment

.
She calls out glen beck for first saying that recent snowstorms disprove global warming, then calls out Beck for denying he said it, also showing that Beck himself is guilty of taking Maddow out of context.
In a way, Beck is right about Maddow practicing "selective editing" - she selected the clips that make him look like an ass and edited them together. But is that really any kind of feat?
Beck – you know your toast when Maddow calls you "dude" – not a good sign
Eric Boehlert in Huffpo further debunks the ACORN/PIMP myth – pointing out that the footage of alleged felon James O’Keef parading around in a pimp costume was edited to suggest that he went into ACORN offices dressed as a pimp when in fact
.
"inside each and every office, according to one independent review that looked at the public videos, O'Keefe entered sans the pimp get-up. In fact, he was dressed rather conservatively. During his visit to the Baltimore ACORN office, he wore a dress shirt and khaki pants. For the Philadelphia sting, he added a tie to the ensemble."

On Keith Olbermann’s Countdown, the lovely & ever-talented Markos Moulitsas shatters the myth of Palin as the independent Tea –partier, pointing out the intractable two-party system makes the Tea-Party, at best, lap dogs for the republicans. Markos bails out Keith’s rambling a little with the 1700’s comment – pointing out that the tea party is not only "out of step" with the mainstream, but also with the republicans themselves. Closing with Palin’s motive for speaking in front of the teabaggers in the first place- a fat paycheck
