I still see lots of empty storefronts in my neighborhood, perhaps more than ever. But I noticed some months ago that home sales in my building had recovered from a period where no apartments would sell despite the desirable location. And even though many storefronts remain empty, I am for the first time seeing a nice increase in the new stores opening up.
