I just received an interesting email with the text of a proposed constitutional amendment:
Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States."
There was no information in the message about any organization being behind this - it was simply a forwarded message.
Regardless, I think it's a good idea. It's ridiculous to have our politicians be exempt from the laws of the land. Downside: it's hard to imagine Congress actually supporting this, and they would have to for it to be adopted as an amendment.
Let's discuss.
