No, really. Thank you. Thank you for single-handedly blocking the passage of a new Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) extension. Because of you, millions of people will lose their benefits, without the necessary jobs available to help them get back on their feet.
You didn't really think this through, did you? Not that I expected you (or any other wingnut member of your party) to really consider the gravity of the matter. I mean, Republicans are all about fiscal responsibility, which explains your adamant insistence on any federal extension being paid for rather than added to the already-monstrous deficit. The monstrous deficit that your party, and your God-awful preznit, helped create.
And you continue to stand for fiscal responsibility when it suits you, which it obviously did not when your friends in the banking industry were making high-risk bets with people's pensions and mortgages. I'm glad you decided to take a stand NOW, when the people who stand to benefit are ordinary Americans and not already-stinking-f*cking-wealthy bureaucrats who might donate to your campaign coffer. Way to stick it to the people who really deserve it.
I am so glad that you are so very fiscally responsible that you objected to adding $10 billion to the deficit, which currently sits at about $12 TRILLION, even when there are no jobs for these unemployed people to take, which is why they're all still on unemployment in the first place.
Decades down the road, our children will read their history books and see that Jim Bunning was solely responsible for lifting America out of its Depression and into financial stability and, dare I say, abundant economic surplus. Thank you so much for doing everything you can to help ordinary Americans back on their feet. I'm sure they'll sing your praises while they sell off all their possessions in order to pay rent.
Asshole.
