Kenneth Lewis was the first democrat to enter the race here in NC to run against republican Senator Burr, the first to challenge Senator Burr to a debate, and is bringing his positive and progressive voice to the Senate Campaign.
I've seen the Cal Cunningham and Elaine Marshall campaigns have a presence on Daily Kos, and the Lewis team may have something in the works too (unless they've already posted something that slipped by me), but I wanted to make sure everyone was aware of his candidacy too to see just how many candidates believe Richard Burr is truly the most vulnerable GOP incumbent in Congress.

Health Care:

A Strong Public option. In North Carolina, almost three-quarters of the health insurance market is controlled by just two companies. Companies do not compete on price, and their market share enables them to continue raising prices unchecked. I will fight for a strong public option, so families can have real choice when they shop for health insurance and insurance companies will have meaningful competition.

On LGBT issues (his answers to my questions posted on BlueNC liveblog):
Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell?
I’m a firm believer that we should not discriminate against people. That’s part of my core belief structure. We have men and women of all sexual orientations serving in the military. The idea that we would remove an officer or anyone because of his or her sexual orientation is abhorrent to me.
Employee Non-Discrimination Act?
I have not read the Employee Non-Discrimination Act, but I will repeat that I do not believe we should discriminate against people because of their sexual orientation.
Civil Marriage?
I understand people and their religious beliefs and I respect that very much and I would not want to do anything that infringes upon someone exercising their religion, but with respect to government actions and as a society of people who have a variety of faiths and non-faiths, I do not believe we should discriminate.
He was also the first to do a live blog on BlueNC.com, which has done more than once, and if you want to see his questions and answers, check them out here:
