I will not debate the merits of the recent diary which claims the DKos website skin from last week, and the current premium add, is misleading and wrong. Link. Jon Soltz, of VoteVets.org posted a diary in response outlining the his case, Link., for the Skin, the premium, as well as a new television ad running nationally and in eight states. Link. No, all the arguments have been made. And yet I notice that despite the over 900 votes equating the Skin as an "ugly tramp stamp worthy of red state" and despite the over 400 tips for the diary, the Dkos is still promoting the campaign linking our need for oil and how the money feeding that need goes to people who kill Americans.
Hmmm. I wonder why?
I suppose it could be that the founder and publisher of this site agrees with VoteVets.Org in their belief that Iran is a threat to America, that high oil prices only help Iran, and that linking clean energy with our security concerns is both good policy and good politics.
I suppose it could be that, despite the vehement belief that this is a "progressive blog," that it is not; that it is a partisan reform Democratic blog; that the vast majority of reform Democrats, be we liberal, progressive, or centrist, recognize that national security is an important issue, that we have enemies in the world, and that we must fight them.
I suppose it could be that many who come to this site, including the founder and publisher of this site, are veterans or family of veterans, or just simply do not have a visceral negative reaction to the boots, the rifle and the helmet.
I suppose it could be many things.
But I am sure of one thing: The VoteVets and Dkos see eye to eye on the campaign.
So for the 400 plus who think the Skin was misleading and wrong, who believe it should be over at Red State: what are you gonna do?
VoteVets and the publisher and founder of this site view the campaign ias blue as HCR. I, the vast majority of your party, and probably half of the people who regularlyfrequent this site think so too.
Gonna take your ball and go home?
