What Are You Working On is a community diary series for all things crafty, in a variety of mediums and techniques.
You may volunteer to guest host by signing up at this yahoo group, which I check from time to time. Also by joining this group, you will receive one email a week when the diary is posted.
If you do not know how to write a WAYWO, there are even instructions. WAYWO is an excellent first or occasional diary opportunity, as we are all very nice.
This is 80 to 120 stitches away from being finished. Maybe less. If I could just put it down. I have an irrational need to keep knitting and making it longer. It is not overly long now, suitable for today's styles and fashions.
The pattern is Irish Hiking Scarf. It was great for learning cables. Cables where you leave the cable needle in front.
I think I might design a different learning cables project - one column with the cable needle in front, and one with it in back. perhaps some kind of cross or twist in the middle? Heck, someone else has probably done this. But it would be good for me.
Now that I have cables down as a technique, I want to learn to read the cable charts. They're so beautiful.
Are you looking forward to a new skill? Have anything nearly finished?
