Some in the I-Hate-Obama-But-I-Can't-Admit-It-Is-Because-He-Is-Black crowd have seen the light about birtherism. They realize that it makes them sound less than intelligent, stubborn and intractable. The problem is that without the birther meme it is much harder to prove that he is inherently evil. They weren't able to tar him with Jeremiah Wright; their accusations just didn't match Obama's words and actions. They couldn't pin him to William Ayers; it was obvious that the association was fleeting at best, and even Ayers didn't come across as evil as they had intended.
But today, in the hilariously titled "American Thinker" blog, a new and better conspiracy is unveiled. What I Learned from Obama's Pop
A poem written by Obama when he was 19 and published in a literary journal is used to prove:
- That Obama's real father was Frank Marshall Davis
- That Davis sexually abused Obama
- That Davis wrote the poem
- That the poem was about Davis, not Obama
- That this makes Obama the ultimate Manchurian candidate.
To get the full flavor of this bizarre "literary critique", you have to also read the comments. One example, from a Richard V.:
I believe that Davis is the blood father of Barack Hussein Obama. Nancy Pelosi knew about it because she had to vet the Dims' candidate. Surely she had to have seen the birth certificate. She and a few of the Dims' leadership realised that they needed the compelling fairy tale of Barack's life to sell it to the stupid voters in an effort to conquer the executive branch of the US government. This was their chance in a lifetime to fundamentally change American. In a quid proco agreement Obama, once in office, has let the Dim's leadership in both Houses write these complex bills to remake our country into a statist society. Members of the SCOTUS knew who was Obama's real father and that's the reason they have not considered the challenge made by the "birthers".
