I started this as a comment on another thread but felt I have as much right as any of the know it alls who post here. Why should I hide and not give my opinion? Because some snob will write some cute little witty one liner deriding me and then their pal agree will with them. Belittle my diary if you want, but you wont silence me. Just because I am not part of your little "Clique" doesn't mean what I have to say is any less valid. Enjoy making fun of another democrat. It seems the "In" thing to do these days. And for those of you who would say I'm just stirring the pot of division, you guys have been doing that just fine without me here. If you don't like the diary. I don't give a shit. Keep it moving. Anyway here goes.
I don't post here much any more because I have become "person non grata". I'm a bad guy, I happen to support the administration. So I have been labeled a Corporate tool. A conservadem, a centrist or a moderate. Forget that i am a self proclaimed liberal who has fought for liberal ideas for a large portion of my life. Now liberal has become a bad word in the media, so the party elite begin to call themselves "Progressives". It's more politically acceptable. Fuck that, I'm a liberal. Just I'm a liberal who thinks for himself. This liberal believes that his liberal principles have never been fully enacted in government because every time we are in power we fight each other as much as the right. No unity because of so many different viewpoints within the party. But I refuse to allow some who IMHO are touting progressivism over pragmatism. Progressivism or nothing. To this liberal that is too extreme. It's easy to hide extremism under the guise of sticking to your principles. I believe that the HCR plan is flawed but it can be fixed during reconciliation and in the near future. Doing nothing helps nobody but the extremists on both sides.
The so called left or progressives if you prefer (because I consider my self part of the left, yet you guys label me whatever term you choose at the moment) Can say anything they want and then call it free speech or standing by your principles. If an Obama supporter says different they are automatically being negative and somehow trying to silence those valiant persons championing single payer for all (I support single payer too, just show me how the left can get it done in America today. they never have in the past either).
Forget the fact that Obama supporters are just supporting their views. They don't have that right, only the so called left does. If the left attacks (ATTACKS) verbally an Obama supporter. That is labeled taking a principled stand. If an Obama supporter defends the administration they are somehow puppets and unprincipled. It seems like the field is tilted in favor of the principled left vs the unprincipled everybody else. Anybody else are the bad guys. I find it incredible that the left, the so called defenders of the common person find it so easy to attack and attempt to derail a democratic administration. So much for civility,
I guess meanness, anger, fear mongering is OK for the left as long as it's under the guise of activism. Harp in public how you are protecting the little guy from the evil corporate owned Obama administration. But the "principles" you are backing only makes the situation better for the evil corporations you claim to be fighting against. Hypocrisy", today's so called left are masters of the universe. You disagree with them, they frame the argument as if you are somehow attacking them (Some do, most don't). But no matter how civil our argument is we are somehow corporate puppets and attacking them. So much for the tolerant left, I've found out the hard way its just a myth.
The Obama Admin has done a lot of fucked up shit, but so have the holier than thou acting Progressives. Your hands are not clean either. You are doing the same thing you accuse others of doing. And that is basically saying it's your way or the highway. But that's OK, when you do it it's called taking a principled stand. When others do it it's called trying to hurt the average American. What a crock!
